One study published in the journal Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging revealed that after just eight weeks of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, participants experienced increased grey matter density in the hippocampus, known for its role in learning and memory. Moreover, symptoms of anxiety and depression have been shown to decrease with mindfulness exercises, according to a paper in JAMA Internal Medicine.
